Jared Ball Prez Campaign open letter

Jared Ball Prez Campaign open letter

An open letter to all Green Party members from the Jared Ball campaign.

Dear Fellow Greens,

We embarked on this campaign which put forward Jared Ball, an African American college professor who was born in Washington D.C. and is a Desert Storm veteran, for the Green Party’s Presidential nomination as an organizing effort to bring in new constituencies to the Green Party. It is our goal to create through the Green Party a political movement that extends across race and class to provide a political voice for the diverse “True American Majority.”

We welcome all other Green Presidential candidates to partner with us in our efforts to grow the Green Party. The 2008 campaign season is our opportunity to show this country the many faces of the Green Party and the vibrant array of ideas that we bring to the table of
determining Americas role in solving the problems of: mass incarceration, world hunger, global warming, quality accessible health care and education, and the creation of just equitable humane economic systems. As candidates working together we will raise the profile of our
campaigns and assure that we have candidates on the ballot in all 51 states.

We invite other Green Party candidates for president to join us in planning joint events with local candidates and activists who are working on anti-war or social justice issues. Together we will create a groundswell of interest in the Green Party and will show the mainstream
candidates for the do nothing corporate shills that they are.

In addition we call out to all Greens asking you to come on board to help your Green Party Presidential candidates get out the word to all Green Party members and beyond. We and all the presidential campaigns need your help to assure that Greens and potential new Greens
are well informed about their choices before deciding which candidate to support. We offer this campaign as an outreach tool, in particular as an outreach tool to Black and Latino communities and need the help of volunteers in each state to make this effort a success. Together we can grow the Green Party and assure that we come out of the 2008 election cycle stronger and better organized than we go into it.

Jared Ball, with DC-based artist and co-campaign manager Head-Roc and their “Capitol Resistance” campaign tour speaking truth to power while upsetting the set up is asking for your support and assistance in bringing us to your area. Schedules are tight and resources
limited so lets get creative and pool our efforts to do regional events. If you would like to plan a Jared Ball “Capitol Resistance” event in your area please contact contact us.

Sincerely,

Head-Roc, Co-campaign Manager/Cultural Outreach Coordinator

McKinney speaks truth to power in Wisconsin

Wisconsin Greens say: Seeking Truth is Risky Business in Time of War

McKinney speaks truth to power in Wisconsin

(Madison, WI) Today six-term Congresswoman, former Democrat and now Green Party member Cynthia McKinney announced her candidacy and held a press conference at the Madison State Capitol building as part of her “Power to the People” tour, promoting her campaign to win the Green Party nomination for President of the United States.

McKinney has been criticized by many for seeking the truth. During her six terms in Congress she sought the truth about intelligence indicating the presence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, the truth about why we went to war in Iraq, the truth about what happened in Florida in 2000 when thousands of African-Americans were denied the right to vote, the truth about voting irregularities involving commercially owned and operated electronic voting machines used in our elections, and the truth about the federal government’s failures to protect the people of New Orleans during and after Hurricane Katrina.

“To ask questions and to seek the truth is always a risky business, particularly in time of war, and particularly when challenging those in power,” said Ron Hardy, co-chair of the Wisconsin Green Party. “Cynthia McKinney has dared to challenge those in power and the two-party system. We are proud of her courage, and are proud to have her as one of our candidates.”

While the Green Party of the United States has called for a full
investigation into what happened on Sept. 11, 2001, and the Bush
Administration has never fully accounted for its failures to protect the American people, the Wisconsin Green Party is not affiliated with the ‘911 Truth Movement’.

Call to Green Party Members: Support Needed for Presidential Candidates

Momentum is building for the 2008 Presidential Elections in the Green Party of the United States, looking towards the Annual National Meeting next July in Chicago. Candidates need support from Greens to be nominated. Below are the calls for support. I have signed on to both in support of all candidates seeking the GPUS nomination for candidate for President of the United States in 2008:

Please forward widely to Greens and Green lists.

Dear Greens,

I am writing to ask for your support for attaining “official” recognition for the candidates listed below.

In order to be acknowledged as a candidate by the National Committee candidates must demonstrate proof of support form 100 greens in at least 5 states. Supporters may sign a letter of support for more than one candidate so we are requesting your support to have all of the following candidates acknowledged as “official” green party candidates.

By signing this letter you are not indicating that you will vote for these candidates.

This list below includes all the candidates who have given me their permission to put their names on this message.

I have included Kat Swift and Jesse Johnson and am waiting to hear back from them, if they do not wish to be included I will remove their names prior to submitting this letter to the PSCS.

Please add your name and contact info to the list of supporters and return to:
rhannon at toast.net

I will then compile all the names together and forward this message to the Presidential Campaign Support Committee.

Thank you for you assistance in showing our support for the dedicated people who have stepped forward to represent us as our presidential candidates. This is due by Dec. 1 so please reply promptly.

Cynthia McKinney’s request for support is also forwarded at the end of this message.

Thank you!
Anita Rios

A Request from the Cynthia McKinneyPresidential Campaign

Hello:

As you may already be aware, the National Committee of the Green Party of the United adopted a “Policy for Recognition of Declared Candidates for the Green Party Nomination for President”. This Policy now governs which candidates seeking the Party’s nomination may access Party resources. It is anticipated that some state Parties may use this recognition as a criteria for access to the state nominating ballots, as well.

We face a December 1st deadline for complying with the standards for such recognition, which include a provision that we receive verifiable support from 100 Green Party members, including members from at least 5 state parties, no later than December 1, 2007;

To facilitate the documentation of our compliance with this provision, last night we posted to Ms. McKinney’s campaign website a form designed to accept pledges of such support.

You can find that form
here.

I am writing to ask you to do the following:

(1) go online and complete that form, pledging your support for national Party recognition of this campaign;

(2) consider making a financial contribution towards our Federal Matching Funds eligibility campaign while you are on our website;

(3) help this request to go viral by circulating it to Greens you know and Green Party lists you are subscribed to.

At this point we have about sixty hours left to meet this deadline. With your help we can do so.

Thank you,
— Hugh Esco

I heard Dr. Jared Ball speak at the Annual National Meeting of the Green Party of the United States in Reading, PA in July. I was duly impressed and would like to see him get the GPUS nomination for the President of the United States.
