Where is Tom Barberi?

Last night someone claiming to be with the Tom Barberi Blog took photos of the Bush Chain Gang.
Where is that blog? I cannot find it just by searching. Well, actually I found this:

http://www.kued.org/productions/utahnow/people/tom_barberi/

but it hasn’t been updated since July.

If someone has the correct information or url, please forward it. Thanks!

Live Journal

When I got on to my blog this morning I noticed all my customized features were gone. I”m not sure what is going on but I hope it is repaired soon.

I will not be blogging for the next several days. Taking a much needed break away from civilization.

Ethan Millard (SLCSpin) was on KSL’s Nightside peoject last night with an interview of Chris Cannon. The World, According To Me has transcripted and posted the quotes.

Ethan Millard [to studio hosts]: So I asked him what kind of institutional changes did he think needed to be made this time.

Chris Cannon: You know, I’ve been tinking about this…there’s
nothing more you can do but educate kides as to the dangers. Frankly,
this is the resposibility of parents. If you get on line, you may find
people who are creepy.

There are creepy people out there who will do and say creepy things
— Avoid them.

That’s what you have to do. And maybe we can say that a little more
to the, uh, to the pages.

And, soundbite #2:

Chris Cannon: You know, these kids are actually precocious kids. It
looks like, just maybe, this one email was just a prank, just a bunch
of kids sitting around, egging this guy on, you know. So, uh…the
world’s a complicated place, and we just have to do the best we can.

Myths About Rocky Anderson’s activities in last week’s rallies

In The Wasatch Front’s post Questus Furore – Civility and Disagreement, I was disappointed to read:

When Utah did not erupt in spontaneous revulsion, the mayor [Rocky Anderson] took it upon himself to organize protests against the President’s presence. (Unanswered and unexplored is the question of what city resources and employees were used to organize these protests. Seems like a job for some enterprising reporter out there. Too bad the local newspapers – the Salt Lake Tribune, the Deseret News – don’t employ any.)

Here is my response to that statement:

I would like to clarify that Rocky Anderson did not organize any of the rallies in Salt Lake on August 30.

Excuses, Excuses

I’ve been quite consumed with “stuff” since arriving back in town after nearly three weeks away. I now think I”m back on track (well, almost) and should start blogging regularly fairly soon.

There’s lots of things to blog about and events coming up and issues that need to be addressed!

Fasting for Peace – Virtual Hunger Strike

I am going to be “fasting from blogging” on this July 4th, in solidarity with Troops Home Fast and Kalyn Denny’s and Laura Rebecca’s Kitchen’s suggestion.

Since I will be fasting on July 4, I will be posting relevant articles on July 3. Look below this post for those entries.

Everyone have a safe July 4!

BRING THE TROOPS HOME! END THE IRAQ OCCUPATION!

Rupert Murdoch and MySpace

I was reading an update from David Rovics on his tour and he had a paragraph about his MySpace Account. David switched to MySpace from LiveJournal recently. Here are some links to info in today’s news about Rupert Murdoch and MySpace:

Fast for Peace

Kalyn Denny of Kalyn’s Kitchen has a post on her Blogher Blog on Food Blogs Joining a Fast for Peace. The project encourages bloggers to either fast or engage in a virtual blog fast in a campaign designed to build pressure for withdrawing U.S. troops from the Iraq war.

Troops Home Fast is the name of the hunger strike by CodePink Women for Peace which initiated the campaign.

Read Kalyn’s Blogher Blog for more ideas on participating in this Fast for Peace.
