Kathy Dopp has sent this out:
TODAY there will be a Diebold voting machine demonstration in the hall of the Park City Municipal Building on Marsac Ave in Park City.
Please attend. The Summit County Clerk’s website is: http://www.summitcounty.org/clerk/
Also, please consider taking these positions:
1. Utah Counties are looking for poll workers for the primary and general election. There is a mandatory training session which will be very educational to attend to see what procedures will be in place for the election using the new Diebold voting machines, and
2. Diebold has contacted Utah Job Service to hire technicians to work with its voting machines here in Utah during elections.
Please apply or volunteer for these jobs as they will be good places to observe the process. There will be a required training session soon for poll workers who are paid $8/hour (at least in Summit county).
The preliminary report on the findings of Utah’s Emery County voting machine examination may be released by BBV early this week. (This is the same information that caused PA to sequester all its Diebolds and demand that Diebold fix the security hole prior to its upcoming primary election – This security hole seems to allow any Diebold technician who is informed of it, to easily rig elections. This same discovery led Utah’s Lt. Governor’s office to fire 23 elected veteran Emery County Clerk Bruce Funk for doing his job and discovering Diebold’s flaws.). Examining a single voting machine can take many months becauseit is a very tedious time-consuming process, so it is not at all surprising that the final report has not been released yet.
Diebold is now pouring over all Emery County’s voting machines and fraudulently billing Emery County $40,000 with the apparent blessing of Utah’s Lt. Governor’s office and Emery County Commissioners & Legal Counsel – possibly Diebold is restoring the machines to the new condition that Diebold was supposed to have delivered them in originally – rather than the used, rejected voting machines from other states – with stick-on rejection dots, Asian fonts
– and insufficient memory to conduct elections. Perhaps Diebold is ensuring that the Emery County machines still have the backdoor that lets Diebold rig elections?
It sounds like the latest Diebold security flaw may be built into its firmware because it is persistant and survives re-installation of the programs. Utah has still not hired even one professional independent mainstream computer scientist with a background in voting systems or computer security to assist it – and the Lt. Governor’s office has chosen the “trust Diebold [the same company that defrauded us by shipping us used, rejected voting machines from other states, lied about the number of offices it has in Utah, and who from all technical indications (lack of any modern security technology, lack of any method to detect or correct errors, and backdoors designed permanently into its system) deliberately designed its voting systems to give maximum accessibility for undetectable election tampering to itself and our election officials – who killed the bill we proposed for conducting independent audits].
We will therefore be asking all Utah voters and candidates to independently register their votes on a web site created for that purpose – so that we can produce independent citizen parallel vote counts and ask voters to fill out affadavits if there are any discrepancies where the official reported count shows less votes that are recorded in the citizen count in any precinct – so that we can assure that only correctly elected candidates are sworn into office.
If only our Utah election officials would do their jobs, rather than be led by the nose by Diebold and fire the only Utah election official (Bruce Funk) who tried to honestly and competently do his job!
Best,
