Nonviolent resistance to Austrian oppression results in separate constitution, Hungary.

1961
In London, Bertrand Russell, 89, led a march of 20,000 and sit-down of 5,000 in an anti-nuke rally outside U.K. Defense Ministry and is jailed for 7 days.
It is the Committee of 100’s, (the direct action wing of the Committee for Nuclear Disarmament) first public demonstration.

1970
Five of the “Chicago Seven” (Rennie Davis, David Dellinger, Tom Hayden, Abbie Hoffman, and Jerry Rubin) are found “guilty” of crossing state lines to incite a riot at the 1968 Democratic convention. They are found “not guilty” of conspiracy.
