GPUS Happenings

I recently have become more involved in projects at the national level of the Green Party of the United States.

I am up for election as one of three Forum Managers. Per the passed proposal #186: Listserv Protocol for Delegates Discussion and Votes Lists, there are to be three Forum Managers elected to facilitate the implementation of the List Guidelines. There are three of us listed in the proposal and one alternate. We represent Florida, Indiana, Rhode Island, and Utah. The vote will take place February 6-12.

The four of us together have been developing a “handbook” and have been discussing further clarification of some of the policy.

The other project I have been involved in which I have posted about in this blog previously, is the GPUS Eco Action Committee. (Description of the committee can be found on the GPUS voting results page)We had our first conference call a couple of weeks ago and had a very productive meeting. Along with some other projects, we are tentatively planning to prepare reports and a workshop at the National GPUS Committee Meeting in July. The members of this committee represent the states of Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Utah.

There are a lot of positive things going on at the national level and it is exciting and educating to be part of these projects and to be working with some very dedicated and knowledgeable people.
