Deceitful Diebold

This came directly from Kathy Dopp from Utah: Count Votes!:

Diebold, the voting equipment company Utah selected, has been scamming everyone about the number of its offices in Utah and around the country.
Please help us call the press to ask them to cover this interesting nationwide story, broken first in Utah.

Diebold sold its voting equipment in Utah in part by convincing Utah decision-makers that it had “about 20 offices in Utah” and so was a big company with substantial presence.

However, a local volunteer noticed that only one of Diebold’s Utah office (in Evergreen Business park) answered its phones and that all the others listed in the white pages never answered its phones.

See White Pages (type in Diebold as the business and select Utah)

A few days ago this volunteer drove around to all Diebold’s locations in 3 counties and discovered that of the 18 Utah offices listed in White Pages – 16 of the listed Diebold locations were phoney and the addresses belonged to either a Walmart or a Sam’s Club or no building at all.

When two of the Walmart managers were asked, they said that Diebold had no office in their store, and did not even own or maintain the ATM in their store.

When a Diebold representative at Evergreen was asked several times why all its “locations” listed in the White pages pointed to Walmarts or Sam’s Clubs, he claimed not to know anything about it, yet he continued
to claim that Diebold had “about 20 locations in Utah” but he could not give the locations of any of these alleged office locations.

Since when does a big company keep all of its office locations a secret, and yet advertise in the white pages, 16 locations that are phoney?

Please help us by calling the local Utah newspapers and asking that they report this story on Diebold’s scam that appears to be a nationwide
story that we’ve broken open here in Utah.

We do not know who owns the phone numbers that Diebold has listed in the white pages or if Walmart participated knowingly in this scam or not.

This is a huge breaking story because it appears that Diebold has used this same scam in other states as well, where we pull up long lists of Diebold offices in other states, and some of their addresses match
Walmart addresses.

We could use help from someone who has time to work on this particular project further, could perhaps drive to some of the locations during daylight hours to get good pictures of the “Diebold/Walmart” locations
with building numbers and Walmart/Sam’s club signs on them for us to post on the Internet, and other help because we do not have time to pursue it further ourselves for now.

If you have time to help make phone calls or mail some letters in connection with this Walmart/Diebold scandal that is most likely nationwide scandal, please email me. Diebold claims to have 400 offices nationwide according to its own web site, but seems to neglect to list its office locations on its own web site.

Is a company which would scam us about the number of offices it has, the type of company we want counting our votes with secret proprietary software that can easily be used to undetectably rig our elections?

  1. Louisiana has 17 to 19 Diebold/Walmart(or Sam’s Club) matches
I found your article sourced at http://www.democrats.com/diebold-offices where I posted my findings for Louisiana (17 or possibly 19 address matches with Diebold offices and Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club stores). I did not use pictures in the post, but I did use yellowpages.superpages.com and the store info/location pages at walmart.com for address comparisons.

  2. 20 locations
Perhaps the 20 locations that they are referring to are the cities where their service techs (who service bank equipment, not voting machines) live….

  3. Diebold
Those addresses from the YELLOW/WHITE pages are locations where Diebold has an installed phone line, either for an ATM or security system. There’s no answer because there’s no incoming calls accepted on a dial-up communications line for ATMs and security equipment.
Next time, have your “volunteers” do some research before wasting bandwidth on the internet discussing something that they obviously have no knowledge of.

  4. Look them up in at…
If you look at the Utah Job Bank Firmfind Database (http://jobs.utah.gov/firmfind), you will find exactly three locations for Diebold, one in Bountiful and two in Salt Lake City. Furthermore, the two in Salt Lake City are right next to each other in street numbers, therefore are technically the same location with two different mailing addresses. Just thought you might like to know…
